Diogene Penzi – San Vito al Tagliamento
The Friulian peasant world told through modern audiovisual language
The Diogenes Penzi project was created with the intention of engaging the visitor in a unique museum experience, discovering the Friulian farming world through a dynamic and varied tour, where the films made complement and complement the story of the objects on display in the various rooms. Through 5 videos we tell the story of the museum and its main themes: viticulture, farm work, milk, silkworms, and play.
The videos were made from archival material traceable to the post-war period – from the 1950s to the 1970s – provided by the Gemona del Friuli Film Library (Fondo Vendramin), Home Movies – National Film Archive, Istituto Luce and the Ethnotext Archive (audio and interviews). Translations into Friulian were made with the collaboration of the Società Filologica Friulana.
